Intravenous
Aid controlled ventilation, Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia Adult: Test dose: 20 mg may be given before anesth to determine drug sensitivity. Initially, 80-120 mg via IV inj, further doses of 20-40 mg may be given as required.
Child: 1.5 mg/kg. Neonates: 600 mcg/kg. |

Chống chỉ định
Severe renal impairment. Hypersensitivity to iodine. Mysasthenia gravis.

Thận trọng
Careful dose titration and monitoring of the degree of block are required to prevent overdosage.

Tác dụng không mong muốn
Tachycardia, increased BP.
|

Tương tác
Lidocaine, procainamide, quinidine, and verapamil may enhance the block. Clindamycin can prolong the action of muscle relaxants. Apnoea may be prolonged when used with polymyxins. Anticholinesterases or long-term treatment with corticosteroids may antagonise the action of gallamine.

It is used to produce muscle relaxation in general anaesthesia during surgical procedures and to aid controlled ventilation. Pharmacokinetics: Distribution: Distributed throughout the body tissues after IV admin. Metabolism: Not metabolised. Excretion: Excreted as unchanged drug in the urine. |
